A Woman's Credit Rating

During the past few years, in some countries, there has been progress in establishing the right of women to hold property and to manage their own finances. It is more likely, too, that now, if a woman can prove she has resources, whether she is married or single, she will be able to secure a mortgage or bank loan on terms similar to those offered a man.

But sex discrimination still exists when it comes to acknowledgment of financial trustworthiness, and justice demands that eventually this situation must be corrected. Through the understanding of the true equal worth and substantiality of all God's children, it must be established that whether an individual applying for credit is a man or a woman is not a valid factor in the transaction.

Christian Science is a strong support to any woman who has a need to establish a home single-handed, to make her way and gain respect in business, to take her place as a fully contributing member of society. It reveals the law of God under which every individual offspring of divine Mind has equal access to spiritual substance. Thereby it strengthens her confidence in her own worth —confidence that is essential if she is to demonstrate the satisfaction to which she is entitled as God's child.
