Healing as a result of being unmoved by symptoms

Christian Science shows that symptoms of disease are actually mental phenomena, the externalized manifestations of dark, disturbed mortal thought. They are most frequently the pictured expressions of fear—fear that tempts us by its seeming physical manifestations to become even more frightened, and therefore more completely entangled in its net of hypnotically induced illusions.

Refuse to be taken in by disease symptoms because both the pictures of fear and the material sense of body on which they seem to appear are falsities about man. As Christ Jesus did when he healed the sick and the sinning, remain calm and still in the consciousness of man's spiritual being and its unbroken unity with God. Quietly, firmly, confidently, assert your harmony and freedom as the perfect expression or reflection of divine Mind.

Because the symptoms that seem to confront you are mesmeric delusions—substanceless, powerless, lifeless—look at them calmly and denounce each one for what it is—nothing. Jesus boldly faced disease and proved it to be a lie. You too can prove its falsity as you remain unmoved by its apparent challenge and persistently contend for Truth—for the oneness and allness of divine Mind and man's unchanging health and harmony in and of this perfect Mind.
