Conquer Compulsive Drinking
An alcoholic said to a friend, "My mind is so full of fear, guilt, resentment, and self-will that I drink to escape the self I cannot stand."
"At least you're honest with yourself," countered the friend. "And only an honest thinker can overcome alcoholism, for one has to face up to himself and his mistakes if he wants to gain permanent sobriety."
A spiritual awakening is the vital need for the problem drinker. Many face this fact, yet are unable to understand how to relate spiritual truths of God and man to their drinking problem. Christian Science shows one how to utilize the ever-present all-power of God, good, to restore the dignity, courage, and peace that drink has deprived him of. Humble prayer is the method.
