Patty skipped up the walk to Sam's house. He was in the garage with his dad when she got there.
"You and Sam can play with these wood scraps, if you want to." Mr. Rowe nodded toward some scraps from some building he had done.
The wood smelled new, and Patty and Sam thought it would be fun to build something themselves.
