A United States Supreme Court landmark decision declared: "It is the right of the viewers and listeners, not the right of the broadcasters, which is paramount." Red Lion Broadcasting Company v. FCC, 1969;
Thoughtful citizens, nevertheless, continue to be alarmed at what they consider television's negative aspects—hypnotic inculcation of materialistic values, excessive and loud commercials, stereotyped formula programs, lack of access for minority groups, and control by conglomerates concerned more with profits than with serving the needs of their local communities.
Television may seem too overpowering an institution for any individual citizen to affect. But the power of God, divine Mind, can be recognized and applied, and we may be assured this power has its effect.
