The Practice of Mind-healing

Nothing gives a Christian Scientist greater joy and satisfaction than confirming in his own or another's experience the truth of Mary Baker Eddy's statement: "The remedial power of Christian Science is positive, and its application direct. It cannot fail to heal in every case of disease, when conducted by one who understands this Science sufficiently to demonstrate its highest possibilities." Miscellaneous Writings, p. 44;

These words, and others like them, in the writings of Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, show that those who make the effort to understand the Science of Christianity and perceive the entirely spiritual nature of God and man can grasp the truth of being in its remedial power and prove its application to human needs.

To illustrate. A student of Christian Science found himself suffering from what seemed to be a dislocated spinal vertebra. His physical activity was hampered to such an extent that at times there seemed to be partial paralysis. For days it was difficult to sit or lie down or perform the necessary tasks of everyday living without torturous pain. Extremely ill-boding suggestions crowded in at times to overpower his thinking and argue for disability.
