The Midnight Hour
When those two early Christians, Paul and Silas, were imprisoned because of their religious activities, they did not yield to despair or bitterness. At the midnight hour they "prayed, and sang praises unto God." Acts 16:25; Suddenly an earthquake shook the prison, opening the doors and loosening the prisoners' bonds.
The jailer, assured by Paul and Silas that none of the prisoners had escaped, was so impressed by this proof of God's presence and power that he adopted Christianity and was baptized. Soon Paul and Silas were liberated from prison by the authorities.
When the midnight hour seems to be upon us, when we are passing through a dark experience, our prayers and our expressions of gratitude for God's omnipresent goodness and love will bring us liberation from our difficulties. God, divine Principle, Love, is always present with us to protect, guide, and support us under all circumstances.
