Jesus Commanded: Heal the Sick

One of Jesus' most important commandments was, "Heal the sick."  Matt. 10:8; He taught his disciples how to do this. The Bible tells us, "When he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease."  v. 1 ; In  Science and Health Mrs. Eddy says: "It is not well to imagine that Jesus demonstrated the divine power to heal only for a select number or for a limited period of time, since to all mankind and in every hour, divine Love supplies all good."  Science and Health, p. 494;

This healing power is available here and now to all who will accept God as omnipresent Spirit, and man as made in His spiritual likeness. It is provable by all who by working and praying attain a state of consciousness in which they know God, immortal Mind, to be All and realize that in God's ceaseless ever–presence, the kingdom of heaven, there is no place or space for sickness, sin, and death.

Every Christian Scientist is dedicated to healing. Through the Bible and with the help of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health, which illumines and explains the Bible, those who wish can gain the spiritual inspiration needed and be filled with the Christlike consciousness that produces instantaneous healing. Christ Jesus possessed this consciousness, this conviction of man's indestructible unity with God. And with the glory of this revelation, this instant recognition of divine Truth acting on human life, he touched the thought of the multitudes and they were healed—instantly.
