The revelation to Mary Baker Eddy of the Christ Science, which Christ Jesus taught and demonstrated, has been steadily unfolding its light to me as I have lived its spirit of peace, joy, and divine contentment that heals. What a priceless privilege it has been!

Devout parents and devoted Sunday School teachers early inspired me to accept Christian Science wholeheartedly and make it my way of life. This decision early unfolded many opportunities for spiritual growth and brought me great protection. I would like to relate three such instances in my younger years when my own understanding and trust in God healed me.

One summer when I was twelve and away at camp in another state for several weeks, I suffered severe attacks of asthma. The asthma was permanently healed in Christian Science through my own prayers. This healing took place in the midst of intense opposition and ridicule from my cabin mates, who did not understand my steadfast reliance upon and study of Science. I expected my healing and accepted it so naturally that it was as though the disease had never been, and the experience was entirely forgotten while I was still at camp. Not until my late twenties was it recalled, with deepest gratitude. All I had remembered was that that was the best summer I had ever spent at camp.
