The Master, Christ Jesus, said, "The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you" (John 14:26). The first blessing I received from the study of Christian Science was comfort.

The revelation of God as the divine Principle, Love, came with these words from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy: "The Christian Science God is universal, eternal, divine Love, which changeth not and causeth no evil, disease, nor death" (p. 140). And it was wonderful to me. As I continued to study, my fear lessened, peace of mind was restored, and great thankfulness for this revelation filled my thought as I glimpsed a little of the power and the glory of infinite, divine Love.

Before coming to the town in which I now live, I spent some months in a sanatorium for the cure of tuberculosis. While a patient, I was told there was no cure but a further stay might prolong my life, although I would always be an invalid. On hearing this verdict I left the sanatorium.
