ISRAEL THINKS OF ESAU: EVENING

After all my flight, my years away,
He thinks no ill of me. We both are blessed,
And not, as I once thought, by trickery,
But by the Lord alone. He gives and gives.
Laban surely taught me of disguise
In darkened tents. My own trick turned on me
Cost seven years of service at his hand,
As well as exile at my own. But now
I've learned so much about agreement with
The Truth, and Esau has his blessing, says,
"I have enough." Of course, I should have known
And not have feared this morning when he came—
My brother, now you're twin to Israel.
