Since my early childhood I have enjoyed the benefits of Christian Science in attending Sunday School, church services, Wednesday evening meetings, lectures, and through the quiet healing atmosphere in Christian Science Reading Rooms.

From 1950 until recently, I suffered from a hernia. With the help of a dedicated Christian Science practitioner the condition was completely healed. The healing started first with a realization of erroneous thinking on my part involving an ingrown hatred of my fellowmen. In Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, we read (p. 541), "The erroneous belief that life, substance, and intelligence can be material ruptures the life and brotherhood of man at the very outset."

After first pondering the above statement, I told myself that this did not apply to me. But a closer scrutiny of my daily thinking revealed a negative attitude, a belief of minds many and of resentment, even hatred, toward some individuals. Then I began to reverse my thinking and to let an understanding of God's truth and love overcome the hatred and resentment I had felt toward a few individuals. And as my thinking progressed and the negative beliefs dissolved, the complete healing of hernia took place.
