"Thy will be done"

Christ Jesus once said, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."^{Matt. 7:21;} And in the Glossary of Science and Health, the Christian Science textbook, Mrs. Eddy defines "Kingdom of Heaven" thus: "The reign of harmony in divine Science; the realm of unerring, eternal, and omnipotent Mind; the atmosphere of Spirit, where Soul is supreme."^{Science and Health, p. 590;} Therefore, not words, but obedience to the will or laws of God, Spirit, is the path to harmonious life.

Are we seeking a sense of life that is free from worry, fear, sickness, sin, in fact, from all that is unlike good? Then there is no way to gain this ideal consciousness, this reign of harmony or kingdom of heaven, other than by doing and trusting the will of God. To do God's will means to be what we really are in Truth, the expression of God's being, His image and likeness, as taught and demonstrated by Christ Jesus and brought out clearly in the teachings of Christian Science.

It is clear that self-will and humanly directed outlining of his course formed no part of the Master's concept of life. He looked to God and was guided and governed by Him in every situation. Knowing and doing nothing but the Father's will, he demonstrated the success that attends such obedience and became the Way-shower for mankind.
