Ruling Out Hurt Feelings

Hurting other people's feelings and feeling hurt ourselves seem part of this world's way of thinking. In fact, this mortal phenomenon of hurt feelings may become a chief source of suffering in our daily lives. It may stir up a flood of self-condemnation, self-pity, resentment, rebellion. Then our business offices may become upset, our homelife disturbed, and finally the whole atmosphere poisoned, even to the point of appearing to harm us physically.

Christian Science gives us the remedy for all this. It teaches us how to live and work together harmoniously at the individual level, and so to help bring peace to our world! In the book of Isaiah we read: "Be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.... And the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.... They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the Lord." Isa. 65:18,19,25

Rejoice forever in that which God creates! Here is the key. Through the understanding of the healing Christ, Truth, we can learn to give credence to and glory in only that which God creates. Then, instead of hurting and being hurt, we will be able to bless and heal.
