For many years our family has enjoyed daily protection and supply through the study and application of Christian Science. I am so grateful to God, who revealed to Mrs. Eddy the truth set forth in the textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. A number of years ago I experienced a healing I would like to share.

For some time I had been suffering with a very painful condition in my knees, and they were swollen to twice their normal size. Treatment from a Christian Science practitioner was being faithfully given me, but evidently I turned a deaf ear to what she said, because I experienced no improvement.

While on a business trip in the country with my husband one day, I studied the Bible and Science and Health each time he called on a customer and left me alone in the car. While studying, I came across the familiar Bible statement from Habakkuk (1:13) that Mrs. Eddy refers to in Science and Health. The paragraph begins (p. 243): "The clay cannot reply to the potter. The head, heart, lungs, and limbs do not inform us that they are dizzy, diseased, consumptive, or lame. If this information is conveyed, mortal mind conveys it." Further on it says, "For God is 'of purer eyes than to behold evil,' and matter has neither intelligence nor sensation." There was a fleeting moment of panic as I realized that God knew nothing of my pain. I felt forsaken, alone.
