Mission: Control Juvenile Delinquency

Just as the building and support of a public school system is testimony to the love of society for its children, so the maintaining of juvenile court and police services, and related welfare services, are evidence of care and concern for children and their protection. Underpinning these social institutions is the authority of statutory law and municipal ordinances. It would seem, because of this and the basically positive desires of many parents to serve the community, that juvenile delinquency, crime, family breakdown, and community disorganization would be minimal.

Why is the reverse true?

Examining this enigma in the light of Christian Science, we discover that the problem is mental in nature. Mental attitudes influence all community activity. The community and the individuals within it perform according to the good or evil in human consciousness. But the problem is solvable through Mind, God. Mrs. Eddy writes, "Immortal Mind, governing all, must be acknowledged as supreme in the physical realm, so-called, as well as in the spiritual." Science and Health, p. 427
