Purifying Our Environment

There is presently a great stir in human consciousness concerning the pollution of earth's atmosphere, the degrading of our environment. Many young people have been moved by this challenge. They see an opportunity to contribute to the betterment of mankind by seeking means to prevent this pollution and clean up the havoc already caused.

Certainly guarding the planet against devastating pollution is imperative, and the Christian Scientist has something extra to give to this cause. Discerning a connection between the environmental pollution and the deteriorating moral scene, he can help by applying spiritual truths to the problems of mental pollution.

The truth about atmosphere is that it is our spiritually mental environment. In Christian Science, heaven is the atmosphere of Soul, or God. So, if we would dwell in the pure atmosphere of the heavenly kingdom, we must eliminate the miasmas of impure mortal mind.
