I am very grateful that my parents made the choice to attend the Church of Christ, Scientist, and enroll their ten children in the Sunday School, which we all attended until we reached the age of twenty. The loving help from the consecrated Sunday School teachers is deeply appreciated.

The first healing of my own that I remember took place several years after I was enrolled in Sunday School. I received a deep cut on one leg and limped to the house screaming. My mother prayed aloud immediately, declaring the truth of God's healing presence while washing and bandaging the wound. I was able to walk to the neighbor's the next day. The wound healed quickly. I recall other healings such as those of a broken collarbone, measles, mumps, earache, and a most beautiful healing of pneumonia for a brother.

After Sunday School I was admitted into membership in a branch church and served on many committees and as Sunday School superintendent while our daughter and son were pupils. The spiritual understanding this church work brought prepared me to serve as Reader. Class instruction brought spiritual enlightenment.
