Elizabeth burst into the house angry and in tears. "Nobody will play with me!" she screamed. "Those stinky kids just want to make fun of me. They go, 'Ugh,' or 'Nyaa, nyaa,' and run away from me, yelling and laughing. They keep right on doing it, no matter how hard I order them to stop!"

Elizabeth's mother tried to calm her down. "What's it all about?" she asked.

"It's because of my warts. They're rough and hard and ugly. Look, there are even more of them now—eighteen—all over my hands!"
