To speak of a "new heart" in modern parlance is generally taken to mean a new pump of tissue and muscle, a vital piece of human machinery that men can now remove from one person and transplant, with limited success, in another. . . .

Time was, however, when the heart and its transplantation were spoken of in a different sense, as may be seen in the words of Ezekiel.
