One morning as I was preparing for work, I was suddenly in great pain. As quickly as I could get to the phone, I called a Christian Science practitioner for help through prayer. Within a few moments all pain left me, and I continued preparation for my work downtown.

Some time later there was a recurrence of this attack, but this time in a much more severe form. Again I had the help of the practitioner, and treatment in Christian Science was continued daily. The end of the problem came on the fifth day, when the conviction came to me, "You are healed." Instantly I recognized this as an angel thought. Mrs. Eddy gives us the definition of "angels" in Science and Health on page 581, which reads in part: "God's thoughts passing to man." I immediately called the practitioner and told her I was healed. This healing took place over eight years ago, and it has been permanent.

After the passing on of a loved one, my healing of grief was instantaneous. In Psalm 121, we read (verse 1), "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help." To turn wholeheartedly to God, who is man's Life, and to understand that man is immortal, never separated from God, was indeed my refuge.
