Use Your Divine Heritage
It is rewarding to heed the sacred counsel of Scripture: "Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life." I Tim. 6:12; To apprehend eternal Life is to bring to light our divine heritage of freedom, our God-given dominion.
Some combat is inferred as being necessary in order to reach this goal. Through faith we must fight to quench materiality, which would thwart God's harmonious control, and attain spiritual sense. The consciousness of God's presence liberates us, for it uncovers the unreality of all unlike God. The appearance of spiritual reality is seen as an expression of the power of God.
The search to find God, eternal Life, must be approached rightly to be successful. The writer of Hebrews says, "He that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Hebr. 11:6; We must approach God, the source of our spiritual heritage of freedom and dominion, first through belief in Him, then through faith and trust in Him, and lastly through obedience to Him. We must study His Word as it is revealed in the textbooks of Christian Science—the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Through these books we are taught of God, and learn our relationship to Him. These steps open our thought so we may receive impartations of divine reality.
