Uptight About Time?
"Wow," a college student exclaimed, "the clock really has me uptight!" She expressed the feelings of many today—the busy student, the housewife, the businessman—who feel that there just aren't enough hours in the day. But others, such as retirees and those waiting for some special event, may feel that the hands of the clock are standing still.
Time is not really in control; it is not all-powerful—it only seems to be. God is the only power, and He is always in control. God, Mind, governs the universe, including man, and time is no part of His infinite allness. Christ Jesus understood these facts, and on this basis more than once proved the powerlessness of time.
On one occasion, a ship that Jesus and his disciples were on arrived "immediately ... at the land whither they went." John 6:21; Time certainly did not seem to be a controlling factor here.
