From childhood, when my mother was healed of a lingering illness...
From childhood, when my mother was healed of a lingering illness through Christian Science, I have known of this great healing truth.
In a testimony published in the Sentinel in 1930, I told of a daughter's healing of infantile paralysis. Before that perfect healing I had not overcome my fear of that dread disease, but since then I have realized clearly that one disease can be destroyed as quickly as another.
Jesus said (Matt. 17:20), "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." When my husband was lifting heavy timbers while helping to build a bridge, he came home one night and called to me from the bedroom, saying that he had a rupture the size a hen's egg. I did not accept that statement but denied it instantly and persistently. I did not go look at it as he expected me to. He had an instantaneous healing. He was surprised, and we rejoiced together.
