Zonk! The fast ball came, and the next thing Tim remembered, Bill Johnson's dad was putting him into the front seat of his car.
"Is your mother home, Tim?" he asked.
Tim nodded that she was. Mr. Johnson started the car and drove the six blocks to Tim's house. He put his arm around Tim to steady him as they walked to the front door together.
