Liberation for All
Women want liberation. Men want it too. Children need to find an answer to the problem of domineering parents. Parents wish to gain release from excessive demands of children. Nations want to be freed from political aggression and religious oppression. Most people today need to gain liberty from some form of domination. But how can we be free from attitudes that lie at the root of more outward forms of tyranny: fear, greed, frustration, materialism?
One way is to start with ourselves.
Some years ago I knew I needed to be liberated. I felt frustrated, fearful, unfulfilled. Babies, stepchildren, and home were all too much. And yet, not enough. I felt too much responsibility and not enough identity. In the Bible I read, "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." II Cor. 3:17; I wanted to know how to find that Spirit and prove its liberty. I knew something of the teachings of Christian Science, and now I turned to it with my whole heart.
