The Power of Prayer
Whether or not our prayers are effective depends upon whether or not our thoughts, when we pray, come from the divine Mind. This takes prayer out of the realm of conventional thinking where there are rules for the right or wrong way to pray. One cannot of his own will turn on the right kind of prayer, but one can yield his own will to the divine. Then his thoughts are those of the one Mind, God, and his prayers are answered.
Desire for divine Truth silences desire for the errors of the carnal mind. But desire is not so much something one does as something one has. And to have a right desire demands honest surrender of wrong desires. This is difficult when the wrong things we desire seem attractive and good. But it is not difficult when we see the wrong things in the right light. Then they appear as they are, worthless. And right desire comes naturally.
Christian Science is here to help us tell the wrong things from the right things—the false from the true.
