United in Love

Mrs. Eddy writes in Pulpit and Press: "All Christian churches have one bond of unity, one nucleus or point of convergence, one prayer—the Lord's Prayer. It is matter for rejoicing that we unite in love, and in this sacred petition with every praying assembly on earth,—'Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.' " Pul., p. 22;

The unity of love is a state of spiritual consciousness emanating from divine Love, God. All who express this heavenly consciousness are governed by the harmony and bliss of divine Love, which really is present and available to everyone here, now, and forevermore.

The teachings of the Bible and Christian Science lift the word "love" from an attribute of God to a synonym for God. They change the sense of love as material to the true sense of love as the inseparable reflection of God, Spirit. The transcendent understanding of love as a quality of divine Love, Spirit, frees us from the limiting beliefs of a mortal, material sense of love.
