Acts of God

The acts of a God who is Love must be good acts. And because He is all-powerful and ever present, in reality no counterforce exists that can act in an evil way. The book of Genesis tells us, "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." Gen. 1:31;

The scientific logic that a perfect cause always produces a perfect effect was taught by Christ Jesus, and this logic is important in the healing practice of Christian Science. Jesus said, "Every good tree bringeth forth good fruit." Matt. 7:17;

However, catastrophes such as tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, are sometimes referred to by mortals as "acts of God." This implies that evils of such magnitude are beyond human perpetration or correction, and therefore must have a supernatural cause—a cause that is illogically believed to be both good and murderous—divine, but willing to wreak death and destruction on its creation.
