"in Love's care"

A SUNDAY SCHOOL PUPIL WRITES

I am eight years old, and I attend a Christian Science Sunday School. In my Bible I have marked I John 4:16, "God is love," and in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, page 494, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." I think about these when I have a problem or something is wrong.

Last year I wanted a kitten, but we were afraid to get one because we had a dog who didn't like cats. I just left the door in my thoughts open to the right answer from God. The answer was that we should be loving and give a home to a kitten. At first our dog, Goldie, and our kitten, Dolly, were scared of each other. But when we left them in Love's care, they became friends.

One summer evening, when Dolly was a little kitten, she did not come home before I went to bed, and I was sad. My mother said we should think about Mrs. Eddy's hymn "Shepherd, show me how to go,"¹ and leave Dolly in God's care. It was dark when we found her sitting and crying at the top of a very high clothesline pole in a neighbor's yard. She was frightened and couldn't move, ... ... but my mother got her down safely.
