"in Love's care"

A SUNDAY SCHOOL PUPIL WRITES

I am eight years old, and I attend a Christian Science Sunday School. In my Bible I have marked I John 4:16, "God is love," and in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, page 494, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." I think about these when I have a problem or something is wrong.

Last year I wanted a kitten, but we were afraid to get one because we had a dog who didn't like cats. I just left the door in my thoughts open to the right answer from God. The answer was that we should be loving and give a home to a kitten. At first our dog, Goldie, and our kitten, Dolly, were scared of each other. But when we left them in Love's care, they became friends.

One summer evening, when Dolly was a little kitten, she did not come home before I went to bed, and I was sad. My mother said we should think about Mrs. Eddy's hymn "Shepherd, show me how to go,"1 and leave Dolly in God's care. It was dark when we found her sitting and crying at the top of a very high clothesline pole in a neighbor's yard. She was frightened and couldn't move, ... ... but my mother got her down safely.
