At the age of three years I was a very active, bouncing, curly-headed blonde. I remember one morning dancing into my auntie's room and out again. I ran across the long low porch and fell when I reached the edge, where I was picked up unconscious.

My loving parents had me examined by several doctors, and finally my case was termed infantile paralysis. I crawled or was carried from place to place. Through grade school I walked with crutches, and through high school I walked with an extension shoe built up eight and a half inches. I was terribly deformed and continued under a doctor's care. After high school I took office and business training in night classes and worked during the day.

A number of years went by, and one morning I realized I was at the point of losing my position. My doctor recommended I return to crutches. A friend in the office asked me to come with her to visit a Christian Science practitioner, which I consented to do. My friend and I knew little of Christian Science except that we had heard of one outstanding healing. We asked the practitioner many questions, which she answered with great understanding. W e wanted to know of the discovery of Christian Science and its method of healing.
