The New English Bible suggests, "Arise, O God, and judge the earth; for thou dost pass all nations through thy sieve"; while J. M. P. Smith renders: "Arise, O God, judge the earth! For thou wilt take possession of all nations."

Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation (Gen. 21:18)
