Several years ago an office associate offered me a book and recommended I read it. This book was Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I started reading and found it just what I had been looking for. At first I could not seem to absorb the ideas in this book fast enough, and soon I was attending church services and Wednesday evening testimony meetings.

The reading of this book opened up new channels and success in my work. But, what was of far greater importance, it gave me a new concept of man and his true relationship to God. I began to understand where real power comes from and that we are governed by this divine power. I saw that we must be receptive to this spiritual concept of man rather than to the material outline of mankind.

This new concept brought a complete change in my way of life. Over a period of time the drinking and smoking habits left me, and a sense of egotism and pride disappeared. I realized that what successes I had enjoyed were not due to personal ability. They were actually the result of a better understanding of God's power reflected in my experience.
