On page 444 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy we read, "Step by step will those who trust Him find that 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.'" For many years I sought for basic truths that would give meaning to my life. Very early in life I was glad to be free of orthodox religious teaching with its stern, forbidding God, but I had nothing to replace it. So for years I looked for release from the distress of problems both physical and mental.

Then, when our son was old enough for Sunday School, a friend invited me to attend a Christian Science Sunday service with her. At this service I felt such a sense of peace and calm that I began the study of Science and Health and the weekly Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly.

From the very beginning conditions began to improve. One of the first healings was that of ear trouble our son had had since infancy. This trouble recurred frequently and required much medical treatment. When we turned wholeheartedly to Christian Science for treatment, he was completely healed in less than a year and has remained so.
