SILOAM

"Go, wash in the pool of Siloam."
Siloam. That means "sent."
None was deputed to lead him there,
But, in obedience, the blind man went.
And, as he washed, the clay of dense obstruction
The Master had disdained—
Darkness of drear despondency,
Of hopeless, hard monotony—
Was cleansed away;
And, in its place, there reigned
The radiance of Truth. The man was free!
With gratitude and joy returning,
"One thing I know," he cried, "I see."
