It is with the deepest sense of gratitude that I testify to healings I have known through the study and application of Christian Science. This Science was brought into my life when I was quite young. A loving relative took me into her home and placed me in a Christian Science Sunday School, where a firm foundation in the ways of God was obtained by study of the Bible together with the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
Because of God's loving care I have never lacked employment and supply. My complete reliance on Him for my every need has been amply rewarded.
For many years I had a rather unsightly growth on my face. Although prayerful work was done by Christian Science practitioners and myself, the condition did not yield. Recently, however, I studied and pondered the subject of my true identity as the reflex image of God, and as expressing only that which is pure and perfect. I gained a clearer sense of identity as spiritual and not material. I also saw that my spiritual identity could not include anything unlike my true spiritual source, God. As a result of these positive thoughts I stopped noticing the condition. One day while I was in my office, I happened to put my hand to the growth and it fell off. This was a further proof to me that not one word of Truth is lost, and that the seed of Truth already planted always bears fruit.
Another healing was that of an injured foot, which I had caught in the door of our automobile. A statement from Science and Health was declared (p. 424): "Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection." And f endeavored to realize that man is perfect in God's creation and nothing of an adverse nature could affect that perfection. I knew that I could not be outside the atmosphere of Love, which was constantly being reflected and expressed. I was able to perform my normal duties, but toward evening I could hardly stand on my foot. During the night the realization came to me again very strongly that my true identity had already been established and that this true identity is ever present. Nothing can touch God's perfect idea. I then felt that the treatment was complete, and knew I could leave the rest to God. I arose the next morning free from any pain. The swelling disappeared in two days.
Mrs. Eddy answers the question "How would you define Christian Science?" (Rudimental Divine Science, p. 1): "As the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony." This law can be realized in our journey from sense to Soul, and I have always found it to be a happy journey.
My gratitude is unbounded for many blessings, for Christ Jesus the Way-shower, for Mrs. Eddy, who gave us this wonderful revelation, and for every activity of the Christian Science movement.
