Christian Science and Laws of Nature
A neighbor who discovered that the writer was a Christian Scientist remarked kindly, "I've always admired anyone who lives by the laws of Mother Nature." The student was startled to learn that non-Scientists might explain her religion in this manner.
Christian Science is not a nature cult. It does not teach that happiness, health, and beauty are to be found only by living in accordance with material laws, often called laws of nature. It does not consider that the physical but so-called natural remedies are any better than drugs and surgery. The well-being of men is not determined and supplied by material laws of nature.
It is spiritual, not physical, law that solves problems through Christian Science. Prayer brings about healing and harmony. Since mental treatment is not visible to a bystander, he may make the mistake of attributing its results to laws of nature.
