Signs of the Times
The Reverend Walter G. Litke
in the Times-Union
Albany, New York
The Church can meet the social problems of the time only if it places spiritual values ahead of secular ones, the Rev. Walter G. Litke said in his Sunday sermon at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Colonie [New York].
"The Christian Gospel will give life to any person," Pastor Litke said, "no matter how poor or how hopeless his lot may seem. The Gospel will enable the Christians to look at the social problems with the compassion of Christ. Jesus was deeply concerned about human need and justice. He devoted most of his ministry to helping people in need."
