Christian Science was presented to me in March of 1935

Christian Science was presented to me in March of 1935. My circumstances were very bleak and frightening. Lack and fear were my constant companions. At this time a very discerning woman saw my need and introduced me to Christian Science. I knew at once that it was the answer to every spoken and unspoken prayer I had ever uttered.

The practitioner to whom I went (and who later was my teacher in Christian Science) listened to my tale of woe and then said to me, "You will never again lack any needful thing." I could hardly believe him at the time, but such has been the case. He included in his remarks: "You will have every need supplied, though perhaps not every want." How often I have used this guideline in praying for and anticipating daily supply. The healings which have accrued to me flood my thinking, but one stands out as especially gratifying and precious because its accomplishment was so simple, natural, and unlabored.

At a time when family duties were so demanding that every waking moment was filled I experienced what I supposed to be a slipped disk. No diagnosis was made, but I was unable to bend or use my back normally. This happened on Monday. As I continued my duties under this extremely painful condition, seeking but not finding an opportunity to call a practitioner for help, this thought kept recurring to me: "Why not look for a healing by mental surgery? You have read of many such healings, and 'God is no respecter of persons' (Acts 10:34)."
