Work—Drudgery or Opportunity?
Because work is always an opportunity to demonstrate our God-given qualities, it need not be boring or depressing.
Mrs. Eddy says, "The song of Christian Science is, 'Work—work —work—watch and pray.'" Message to The Mother Church for 1900, p. 2; Perhaps the thought of "work— work—work" seems monotonous, hard, and unenjoyable. If so, one needs to understand the true nature of work.
Man's real activity is to express the intelligence, ability, and strength of God, as well as divine beauty, integrity, purity, love, and other attributes. Thus, in whatever job one may be employed, one has an opportunity to reflect God's qualities. And the reflecting of these qualities blesses the worker.
