Protesting for Love

Is there any greater need than for the people of the world to feel love for one another? Those acquainted with a wide section of young people today know that some of them are what they call "turned off." They believe that they just don't care about anybody or anything and that nobody cares about them. They insist that they don't want to be "turned on." They have been disappointed so many times that they withdraw so they won't be hurt again.

Are we so callous that we are indifferent to the needs of these members of our society? Let's care enough to want to help them come alive to the presence and power of God's love. How can we do this?

First, let's reject outright what psychology says regarding the causes for these attitudes. Instead of accepting the belief that something in one's earlier life may have damaged him, Christian Science works from the standpoint of perfect God and perfect man —now and always. Perfect God is perfect divine Love. And perfect man is the reflection of perfect Love. So man must be loving, lovable, and loved.
