A Reason for Faith

A young Christian Scientist who was asked by a friend why she had such great faith in her religion found that enumerating healings effected by the application of Christian Science was not convincing to him. He wanted to know why and how all this came about.

She had been reared in Christian Science and accepted its teachings with as little question as she accepted spring rains, sunshine, and flowers. Now she recognized how shallow was her understanding of her childlike faith. A verse from the Bible came to her thought, "Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear." I Pet. 3:15;

She began to search the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings for a more thorough understanding of the Science of Christianity. The King James Version of the Bible is written so simply and beautifully that men have loved and read it for centuries. For nearly one hundred years Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mrs. Eddy has served men as a sure key to the Bible's treasures.
