The true understanding of the Bible, however, came only after Christian Science was introduced to me and I had devoted consecrated daily study to the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly.

My first healing came gradually. I was suffering from a spinal ailment and had gone to several specialists who tried to help the condition, but to no avail. Fusion of the spine was recommended by one surgeon, but my husband and I decided against it. The specialists declared I would be a semi-invalid for the rest of my life and warned me not to bend or lift.
