I am deeply grateful to God for the revelation of Christian Science. . .

I am deeply grateful to God for the revelation of Christian Science and to Mrs. Eddy for her selfless love in giving this practical religion to the world, for her untiring work in establishing the Church of Christ, Scientist, and for ordaining the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures as the pastor of this church.

On leaving the Christian Science Sunday School I joined The Mother Church, but for many years I lived too far away from a Christian Science branch church to attend services or become a member. However, with the aid of the Quarterly and our pastor, and the Order of Services given in the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy, I was always able to have a church service of my own. For some years I lived close enough to my mother to be able to share this service with her.

In 1965, I had the privilege of Christian Science class instruction. While at class I had a deep desire to be able to use what I was learning and to be active in a branch church. I left this desire with God, praying in the words of the twenty-third Psalm (verse 3): "He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake."
