Life Continues Forever
When Christ Jesus restored the dead to life, he was doing far more than comforting the relatives and friends of the one who had gone on. He was proving to humanity for all time to come that death is not the end of anyone, that life continues on, and that identity is not in flesh. His raising of the dead was an exhibition of divine Science, a vivid explanation of the truth that life never dies, regardless of changes that may take place with the flesh. And because Science is based upon Love, God, whatever it accomplishes is comforting.
Jesus brought a new sense of life to the world, life not bound by flesh. This was his mission. He said of mankind, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:10; Near the end of his ministry he declared, "This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." 17:3;
Again and again he spoke of life in its immortal meaning, always helping to blot out mortality, which is the opposite of life.
