A Right One for Each One

[For young adults]

An average of fifty applications for divorce are received each week in our city of three hundred and fifty thousand. This underscores the need that everyone who wants to get married find the right marriage partner. Where ideals, aspirations, and aims of individuals are different, it is more difficult for them to establish a harmonious family relationship. Knowing that a right partner awaits each one helps dissipate fear or uncertainty and gives confidence to go forward.

When Abraham saw that Isaac was ready to take a wife, he sent his trusted servant to Haran to choose a wife from his own people. Abraham was confident that God's plan included the right woman to be Isaac's wife and that this one would be revealed. He told the servant, "The Lord . . . will send his angel with thee, and prosper thy way." Gen. 24:40; And that is what happened.

For a young man looking forward to a satisfying marriage the choice of a wife seems all important. Ask yourself: "Why do I want to marry? Am I just looking for someone to cook and do my laundry? Am I merely answering a biological urge? Am I looking for a dance partner or a party girl? Am I running away from my home or parents? Or am I looking for a friend with whom to share my joys and laughter? Am I ready to share with a companion my spiritual inspiration and understanding and work toward a higher sense of completeness and satisfaction?"
