God's Works Are Wonderful

All that God, Spirit, creates and imparts is wonderful. It is wonderful in its uplifting influence, its inspiring challenge, its awesome healing power, its stability and permanence. In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy says: "God creates all forms of reality. His thoughts are spiritual realities." Science and Health, p. 513; Again, in the Glossary of this textbook we have this definition: "Angels. God's thoughts passing to man; spiritual intuitions, pure and perfect; the inspiration of goodness, purity, and immortality, counteracting all evil, sensuality, and mortality." p. 581;

The strength of gentleness, the might of loveliness, the beauty of holiness, the sweetness of control—we stand in wonder at the expression in multifarious ways of these, His marvelous works. The outcome of the one Mind, the Mind that knows and expresses all, commands the unfeigned awe of the intelligent and appreciative observer.

Wonderment and appreciation accompany spiritually perceptive scrutiny. The thoughtless, apathetic person misses the wonder of it all, just as an untrained gallery tourist passes by a Rembrandt without appreciation of his mastery of light and shade, the scintillating brilliance of his whites and scarlets, his glowing metals, his dramatic composition. How much the casual viewer misses!
