SONNET OF LIGHT
Paul walked with vengeful thought his darkened way
Until from ignorance Christ set him free,
And on Damascus road the clarity
Of Truth shone down a penetrating ray
So bright it lit his world, his thought, his day.
Christ's angel message strengthened him, and he
Arrayed thenceforth in Love's transparency,
Taught others how to work, and heal, and pray.
Dear Father-Mother God, what joy the light
Of understanding brings to men, to shine
Upon the world's dark dreams and put to flight
All false belief! O let this Truth of Thine
Show forth man's brotherhood and prove no night
Can be where radiant shines Thy Love divine.
