Although I was brought up in Christian Science, attended the Sunday School, and had bountiful blessings resulting from the consecrated work of my mother and that of practitioners, during my late teens I strayed from the teachings of this Science. After a few years every door through which I had thought I could find happiness and health closed. It was then, while in a hospital bed, that I decided to return to the study of Christian Science. I refused an operation for what the doctors called appendicitis and found my healing in Christian Science. That was many years ago, and the healing has been permanent.

The climb from indulgence in material thinking to the receptivity of spiritual ideas seemed slow and very difficult at times. Through prayer and perseverance, and with the support and encouragement of practitioners, and later with the love and patience of my husband, a Christian Scientist, I again found the path of Truth; and with it health, harmony, and joy have been restored. Class instruction from a consecrated teacher has added clarity, stability, dominion, and strength to my daily experience.

A few years ago our family had an experience which taught us a lesson for which we are most grateful. Upon returning from a motor trip we discovered that all our luggage was missing from the trunk of the car. Each member of the family held firmly to the truth and through prayer refused to accept the suggestion of loss. It became apparent that the problem was one of theft, and that the belief of dishonesty had to be replaced with the fact of man's utter integrity, completeness, and absolute perfection as the image and likeness of God.
