I took up the study of Christian Science when my daughter was healed of a disease many doctors had been unable to diagnose.
She met one of her club members who was a consecrated Christian Scientist and told her of the illness and that the doctors were going to perform an operation. As my daughter is the young mother of two small children, this was very distressing. Her friend listened patiently and asked if she had tried everything. The answer was "Yes, everything." Then her friend said, "Have you tried Christian Science?"
My daughter knew nothing of Christian Science, and she thought for a moment, "What does Christian Science have to do with it? I'm sick!" But she replied that she had not tried Christian Science but was willing to try it, as nothing else had helped. She asked for Christian Science treatment by a Christian Science practitioner, and the result was an instantaneous healing.
